Dehydropeptidase 1 (DPEP1)

Target
DPEP1
Molecular classification
Enzyme, Metalloproteinase
01

Overview

Dehydropeptidase 1 (DPEP1), also known as renal dipeptidase or membrane dipeptidase, is a zinc-dependent metalloproteinase primarily expressed in the kidney. It plays a key role in hydrolyzing a wide range of dipeptides and is involved in the metabolism of certain antibiotics and bioactive peptides. DPEP1 is upregulated in some cancers and promotes tumor cell adhesion and invasion.
