Lipid rafts play essential roles in **signal transduction**, especially in immune cells (e.g., B cell and T cell receptor signaling), regulation of membrane protein trafficking, membrane fluidity, endocytosis, apoptosis, and spatial organization of the plasma membrane[1][2][3][5][6]. They are implicated in the pathophysiology of cancer, cardiovascular disease, inflammation, neurodegenerative disorders, and infection because they function as portals for pathogen entry, modulate immune responses, and influence cell death pathways[3][6][7]. However, as a membrane structure and not a classical drug target (like a receptor, enzyme, or transporter), membrane lipid rafts are not directly "targetable" by traditional small molecule drugs—their therapeutic targeting remains an area of research rather than routine practice[5][9]. **Note:** Lipid rafts are **not a druggable protein, receptor, or enzyme**, but rather biophysical membrane domains.
