Membrane-spanning 4-domains subfamily A member 18 (MS4A18) is a predicted tetraspanin-like protein with four transmembrane domains, encoded by a gene on human chromosome 11[1][2][6][8][9]. It is predicted to localize to the plasma membrane and participate in cell surface receptor signaling pathways, although there is currently no experimental evidence defining its precise molecular function or biological role in humans[1][8]. As a member of the MS4A gene superfamily, which includes immune cell surface proteins involved in calcium signaling and immune regulation, MS4A18 shares structural features with proteins implicated in cancer, neurodegeneration, and immune processes, but its individual disease associations, drug interactions, biomarker status, and safety concerns remain uncharacterized in the scientific literature as of June 2025[2][7].
