Methyl-CpG binding domain protein 3-like 3 (MBD3L3) is a putative methyl-CpG-binding domain protein encoded by the MBD3L3 gene in humans. It is predicted to play a role in **DNA methylation-dependent heterochromatin formation** and possibly the **negative regulation of transcription** by RNA polymerase II, based on homology and predicted protein function. Like other members of the methyl-CpG-binding domain family, it is believed to localize mainly to the **nucleus**.
