Target intelligence / Profile preview
MICOS10 pseudogene 2 (abbreviated MICOS10P2) is annotated as a pseudogene in the human genome and does not encode a functional protein. Pseudogenes are non-coding genomic elements resembling known genes but are generally non-functional due to mutations or deletions. MICOS10P2 is related by sequence to the protein-coding MICOS10 gene, which encodes a key subunit of the mitochondrial contact site and cristae organizing system (MICOS) complex involved in mitochondrial inner membrane structure. However, unlike MICOS10, MICOS10P2 has no known biological activity, clinical significance, or druggability.
