It also mediates chemoresistance to taxane-based therapies by decreasing sensitivity to drugs like paclitaxel and docetaxel[2]. miR-1260b serves as a potential biomarker for cancer diagnosis and progression, particularly in NSCLC, due to its elevated levels in patient plasma and tumor tissue. It is under investigation both as a molecular marker and as a candidate for therapeutic targeting to overcome chemoresistance[1][2].

Mechanism of action

Downregulation of miR-1260b increases sensitivity to taxanes (restores chemosensitivity). Upregulation of miR-1260b promotes drug resistance. It also regulates oncogenic pathways, such as the Wnt pathway via SFRP1 suppression and KIT signaling via SOCS6 targeting.
