Overview

MicroRNA 1277 (miR-1277) is a short, non-coding RNA molecule classified as a microRNA. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are about 20–24 nucleotides long and act primarily by binding to messenger RNAs (mRNAs) to regulate gene expression at the post-transcriptional level, typically through mRNA degradation or translational repression[1][2][3][4]. miR-1277 is a member of the human miRNome and can be referenced as hsa-miR-1277 or MIR1277. The mature form, miR-1277-5p, is mentioned in studies of circulating small extracellular vesicles and appears to be implicated in the regulation of protein maturation and metabolic pathways, according to gene ontology analysis[6]. There are no direct reports of miR-1277 as a therapeutic target, nor evidence of interacting drugs, common use as a biomarker, or notable safety concerns. The broader class of microRNAs is widely studied for roles in numerous physiological processes as well as diseases such as cancer, but there is insufficient data specifically on miR-1277 as a distinct molecular target or diagnostic entity[2][5][6]. Note: There is insufficient specific scientific or clinical information available for microRNA 1277 (miR-1277) as a stand-alone therapeutic or diagnostic target. The molecule is a named human microRNA, but does not currently have a well-characterized molecular or clinical profile beyond bioinformatic and expression dataset analysis. This may make the entry "incorrect" for the purposes of databases strictly focused on well-validated drug targets, receptors, or clinically actionable molecules.
