microRNA 2115 (MIR2115, hsa-mir-2115) is a small, single-stranded non-coding RNA molecule, typically 21–23 nucleotides in length, that functions as a post-transcriptional regulator of gene expression. Like other microRNAs, it binds to target messenger RNAs (mRNAs), primarily via partial complementarity to regions typically found in the 3′ untranslated region (3′-UTR), leading to mRNA degradation and/or inhibition of translation. Mir-2115 is part of the broad family of human microRNAs but is not currently classified as a major therapeutic target or established biomarker, and its specific biological and disease roles remain poorly characterized in available biomedical literature. MicroRNAs in general are involved in fine-tuning cellular responses, including cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis, and have implications across multiple disease states, although the evidence for microRNA 2115 itself in these roles is limited. No specialized or validated molecular or clinical associations for microRNA 2115 are identified in current standard databases or primary literature.
