MicroRNA 3118-4 is a predicted human microRNA, a member of the class of small non-coding RNAs (about 20–24 nucleotides long) involved in post-transcriptional gene regulation by modulating mRNA stability or translation through binding to complementary sequences. MicroRNAs, including MIR3118-4, are processed from primary transcripts by the Drosha and Dicer endonucleases, and loaded into the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC) to direct gene silencing. Although microRNAs as a class are involved in a wide range of biological processes and diseases, there is currently no specific functional, disease, or pharmacological data for MIR3118-4[1][2][6]. Important note: There is no published evidence linking MIR3118-4 to specific biological or disease roles, drug interactions, or biomarker status.
