MicroRNA 3130-2 (MIR3130-2) is a small (20–24 nt) non-coding RNA gene belonging to the microRNA family. It is transcribed from chromosome 2q33.3. MicroRNAs such as MIR3130-2 function in post-transcriptional regulation by binding to target mRNAs and promoting translational inhibition or destabilization, primarily orchestrated via the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC). The mature miRNA is generated through a multi-step process: Drosha-mediated processing of a primary transcript to precursor miRNA (pre-miRNA), followed by Dicer-mediated cleavage to mature miRNA, which is then loaded into RISC. Functional targets and downstream biological or disease association of MIR3130-2 are not defined in current genetic or clinical literature.
