Overview

MicroRNA 3134 (MIR3134) is a predicted human microRNA gene (HGNC:38254, NCBI Gene:100422990, Ensembl:ENSG00000264354) whose product is expected to be a short (20-24 nucleotides), non-coding RNA molecule participating in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression, typically by interacting with the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC) and leading to translational inhibition or destabilization of target mRNAs[1]. Like other microRNAs, MIR3134 is transcribed as a primary transcript, processed by Drosha and Dicer enzymes into a mature form incorporated into RISC[1][2][3]. As of now, there is no experimental evidence regarding its cellular functions, associated diseases, or involvement in drug mechanisms[1]. The entry is included in gene databases but is not established as a validated therapeutic or diagnostic target.
