MicroRNA 3142 (miR-3142)

Target
miR-3142
Molecular classification
Non-coding RNA, microRNA
01

Overview

MicroRNA 3142 (miR-3142; hsa-mir-3142) is a short, non-coding RNA molecule involved in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression, primarily by mediating mRNA destabilization or translational inhibition. miR-3142 has been implicated in oncogenesis and chemoresistance, particularly via downregulation of the tumor suppressor PTEN, resulting in activation of the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway. This microRNA has been proposed as a non-invasive serum biomarker for the detection and prognosis of cancers such as cervical cancer and plays roles in promoting cell proliferation, suppressing apoptosis, and mediating chemotherapy resistance in leukemia cell models[1][2][3].
