Overview

microRNA 3146 (MIR3146) is a human microRNA, a small non-coding RNA molecule that functions primarily in the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC) to regulate gene expression at the post-transcriptional level. Like other microRNAs, its biogenesis involves transcription as a primary miRNA (pri-miRNA), processing by the Drosha-DGCR8 complex in the nucleus, export to the cytoplasm, and further cleavage by Dicer to produce the mature miRNA, which then associates with Argonaute proteins to guide sequence-specific silencing of target mRNAs[1][4]. As of the current literature and available databases, there is no evidence that MIR3146 is a validated therapeutic target or plays a unique, disease-specific role. Its biological characteristics and mechanisms are expected to follow those of the general microRNA family, contributing to gene regulatory networks in human cells[1][4].

Disease associations

There is not yet specific published evidence implicating microRNA 3146 in a defined disease context. In general, the microRNA family plays roles in cancer, cardiovascular disease, neurological disorders, and other pathologies, but no specific roles for MIR3146 have been established in the literature available in the provided search results or major microRNA databases[1][2][3][4]
