MicroRNA 3150a (MIR3150A) is a human microRNA gene belonging to the class of small non-coding RNAs that regulate gene expression at the post-transcriptional level[1][3]. Like other microRNAs, MIR3150A is processed from a primary transcript by enzymes such as DROSHA and DICER to form a mature miRNA that binds to complementary sequences in target mRNAs, leading to mRNA degradation or inhibition of translation[3]. MIR3150A is affiliated with the miRNA class and is annotated in human databases with experimental evidence of mature miRNA formation[1][5]. Limited direct functional or disease association data is available, but it is listed as associated with immune deficiency disease in at least one database, suggesting a potential regulatory and possibly disease-related role[1]. There are no known approved therapeutics that target MIR3150A directly; research reagents such as antisense oligonucleotides ("inhibitors") can sequence-specifically block miR-3150a function for experimental purposes[4]. As with other microRNAs, dysregulation could feasibly impact a wide range of biological pathways depending on exact mRNA targets, but there are not currently established clinical uses, biomarkers, or safety risks specific to MIR3150A.
