Overview

MicroRNA 3154 (MIR3154) is a predicted human microRNA gene encoding a short non-coding RNA involved in the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression, primarily by binding to complementary sequences in target mRNAs to inhibit their translation or promote their degradation. miRNAs are generated through stepwise processing by Drosha and Dicer enzymes and function as components of RNA-induced silencing complexes (RISCs). There is currently no direct evidence in the biomedical literature or specialized databases that MIR3154 is established as a therapeutic target, has known interacting drugs, or is used as a biomarker. MIR3154’s specific biological roles, associated diseases, or functional pathways remain uncharacterized in available resources[1][2][3][4]. MIR3154 follows canonical microRNA biogenesis and mechanism of action, as described for other microRNAs, but no experimental data or disease associations are available for this particular miRNA[1][2][3][4]. Its status as a target is “false” because there is no evidence of it being targeted by drugs or explored as a direct therapeutic target in current literature. The entry is marked as "incorrect" because, while MIR3154 is a valid predicted microRNA gene, it is not a canonical therapeutic target (such as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, etc.), and very little specific information is available.
