Overview

MicroRNA 3165 (MIR3165) is a short, non-coding RNA molecule classified as a microRNA (miRNA), typically 20-24 nucleotides in length[1]. Like other miRNAs, MIR3165 is transcribed by RNA polymerase II as part of a primary transcript, processed by Drosha (in the nucleus) and Dicer (in the cytoplasm) enzymes to generate a mature miRNA duplex[1][3]. The mature MIR3165 is incorporated into the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), where it binds target mRNAs primarily through imperfect base pairing, causing translational inhibition or destabilization of the mRNA[1][2][5]. Although the general functions of miRNAs include roles in cell differentiation, proliferation, apoptosis, and gene expression regulation, there are no specific disease associations, therapeutic targeting, or interacting drugs currently known or annotated for MIR3165[1][5]. The biological specificity and clinical relevance of MIR3165 remain uncharacterized in current biomedical databases.
