microRNA 3169 (MIR3169) is a small, single-stranded, non-coding RNA molecule approximately 21–23 nucleotides in length, belonging to the microRNA family. MicroRNAs function as post-transcriptional regulators of gene expression; they typically bind to complementary sequences in messenger RNAs (mostly the 3′ untranslated region) and repress gene expression either by degrading the target mRNA or inhibiting its translation.
