Overview

microRNA 3184 (MIR3184) is a small, non-coding RNA molecule (microRNA; ~20-24 nucleotides) found in humans and involved in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression, primarily by promoting mRNA degradation or inhibiting translation[3][5]. MIR3184 is enriched in cerebrospinal fluid exosomes from glioma patients and is linked to tumor progression by directly promoting glioma cell proliferation, migration, invasion, as well as inhibiting apoptosis. Additionally, glioma-derived exosomal MIR3184 can polarize macrophages toward an immunosuppressive M2-like phenotype, further enhancing tumor growth and immune evasion. As such, MIR3184 represents a potential biomarker for glioma and may indirectly influence tumor biology via effects on both tumor cells and the tumor immune microenvironment, but is not a classic therapeutic receptor or enzyme target[1][5].
