MicroRNA 3185 (miR-3185, MIR3185) is a small, non-coding RNA molecule approximately 22 nucleotides in length, classified as a microRNA. It post-transcriptionally regulates gene expression by binding primarily to complementary sequences in the 3’ untranslated regions of target mRNAs, leading to translational repression or mRNA degradation. Although the specific target genes regulated by miR-3185 are not comprehensively mapped in current literature, miR-3185 has been identified as a potential biomarker in various cancers, including hepatocellular carcinoma and gastric cancer, where its presence in tissue and plasma correlates with diagnostic and/or prognostic outcomes. There are no approved drugs directly targeting miR-3185, nor is it considered a classical therapeutic target such as a receptor, enzyme, or transporter. Like other microRNAs, miR-3185 likely participates in broader cellular processes such as cell proliferation, apoptosis, and differentiation via modulation of gene expression, but disease-specific functions remain to be clearly delineated[2][3][4][5][6][7][9].
