Overview

MicroRNA 3186 (miR-3186, hsa-mir-3186) is a putative human microRNA, part of the non-coding RNA family known to regulate gene expression at the post-transcriptional level[2]. MicroRNAs in general function by pairing with complementary sequences in messenger RNAs (mRNAs), typically resulting in silencing by mRNA degradation or translational repression[2]. However, there is currently no published biomedical evidence describing the specific sequence, expression profile, biological targets, molecular function, or clinical disease role of MIR3186. Its absence from authoritative miRNA catalogs and the biomedical literature strongly suggests that MIR3186 is either a rarely expressed, poorly annotated, or possibly misattributed entry, and it has not been validated or studied as a therapeutic, diagnostic, or prognostic target. Note: Most of the available knowledge on microRNAs pertains to the family as a whole, with extensive involvement in molecular classification of cancers and potential as biomarkers, but MIR3186 is not among those characterized or reported in functional or disease studies[1][2][3].
