Overview

microRNA 3192 is a small non-coding RNA molecule in humans, produced from the MIR3192 gene. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) such as MIR3192 are short RNA sequences (typically ~22 nucleotides) that regulate gene expression after transcription by binding to complementary sites on messenger RNAs (mRNAs) and either repressing translation or promoting mRNA degradation[2][3][4]. This regulatory function allows microRNAs to influence a wide variety of biological processes, especially development, cell differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis. The specific biological roles and disease associations of microRNA 3192 have not been well characterized in the scientific literature to date, in contrast to major oncogenic or tumor suppressor microRNAs. Like other miRNAs, it is not a classic "target" for conventional pharmacological intervention, but modulation of microRNAs is under active research for certain clinical applications[1][2][4].
