microRNA 3610 (MIR3610) is a human microRNA, part of the broader family of short (~22 nucleotide) non-coding RNAs that regulate gene expression post-transcriptionally by binding primarily to the 3’ UTR of target mRNAs, leading to translational repression or mRNA degradation. MIR3610 has been identified as differentially expressed in certain cancer types. Specifically, increases in MIR3610 levels are associated with worse overall survival in triple negative breast cancer, suggesting a role as a negative prognostic factor. While the detailed molecular targets of MIR3610 remain to be clarified, its dysregulation is relevant to the biology of cancer, particularly as part of complex regulatory networks involving other non-coding RNAs and protein-coding genes. Currently, MIR3610 is not a druggable target and has no known direct small-molecule interactions.
