MicroRNA 3620 (MIR3620) is a short, non-coding RNA molecule, approximately 20-24 nucleotides in length, that belongs to the microRNA class of regulatory RNAs. Like other microRNAs, MIR3620 functions by binding to target messenger RNAs (mRNAs) and can regulate gene expression by promoting mRNA degradation or inhibiting translation via the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC). Dysregulation of MIR3620 expression has been associated in some studies with diseases such as tongue squamous cell carcinoma and lung non-small cell carcinoma, although its precise biological role and gene targets remain to be fully clarified[1][2][3][4]. As a microRNA, MIR3620 itself is not considered a “therapeutic target” in the classical sense of being a receptor, enzyme, or transporter, but it may represent a future biomarker or biomolecular target in oncology and gene regulation research.
