Overview

MicroRNA 3654 (miR-3654) is a small, non-coding RNA molecule classified as a microRNA, which regulates gene expression at the post-transcriptional level by binding to complementary sequences on target messenger RNAs (mRNAs), typically resulting in translational repression or mRNA degradation[2][3]. The expression of miR-3654 has been observed to be upregulated in prostate cancer cells compared to normal and certain androgen-insensitive cancer cell lines, suggesting an involvement in the progression of prostate cancer[1]. Like other microRNAs, miR-3654 may function in diverse biological processes such as cellular proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis, often acting as a fine-tuner or rheostat for gene expression[2]. There is currently limited direct evidence on specific drugs or clinical biomarkers for miR-3654, and further studies are needed to elucidate its molecular targets and mechanisms in human disease.
