MicroRNA 3659 (MIR3659) is a small, non-coding RNA gene in humans that produces a mature microRNA molecule involved in RNA silencing and regulation of mRNA translation and stability[1][3]. MicroRNAs like MIR3659 function by recognizing complementary sequences in target mRNAs, primarily leading to translational inhibition or mRNA destabilization[1]. MIR3659 itself has no established direct role as a therapeutic target but has been studied as a down-regulated miRNA in prostate cancer, where its expression ratio against other miRNAs (such as miR-1913) provides biomarker potential for disease diagnosis[7]. Its detailed physiological and pathological roles remain to be fully elucidated.
