MicroRNA 365a (miR-365a)

Target
miR-365a
Molecular classification
microRNA, non-coding RNA, regulatory RNA
01

Overview

MicroRNA 365a (miR-365a) is a small non-coding RNA molecule involved in the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression by targeting messenger RNAs for translational repression or degradation. It has key biological roles in promoting chondrocyte proliferation and differentiation by targeting HDAC4, is mechanoresponsive, and is implicated in epigenetic regulation of chromatin. miR-365a additionally regulates cardiac ion channel expression, thereby affecting cardiac electrophysiology, and altered miR-365a levels are associated with various cancers and cardiac arrhythmias. It is currently under investigation as a potential therapeutic target, particularly using inhibitory oligonucleotides in preclinical cancer models[1][2][3][4].
