MicroRNA 3665 (MIR3665) is a small, non-coding RNA molecule in the miRNA family that regulates gene expression at the post-transcriptional level by binding to target mRNAs, modulating their stability or translation. MIR3665 is involved in a variety of cellular processes including transcription regulation, signal transduction, cell adhesion, and protein transport. Aberrant methylation of its promoter has been associated with progression and poor prognosis in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma; it also plays roles in other cancers, neurodevelopment, immune regulation, and aging. While its detailed regulatory mechanisms and gene targets continue to be elucidated, MIR3665 is emerging as a potential biomarker for cancer prognosis and a candidate for further therapeutic research.
