Overview

MicroRNA 3688-2 (MIR3688-2) is a human microRNA, a short (20–24 nucleotide) non-coding RNA involved in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression. Like other microRNAs, it is transcribed as a primary transcript (pri-miRNA) by RNA polymerase II, processed into a precursor miRNA (pre-miRNA) by Drosha in the nucleus, and further processed by Dicer in the cytoplasm to generate the mature miRNA. The mature MIR3688-2 is loaded into the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), guiding it to target mRNAs, usually resulting in translational repression or mRNA destabilization. Specific biological functions, disease associations, or drug interactions for MIR3688-2 have not been described in the current literature[8][6].
