Overview

microRNA 3917 (MIR3917) is a short non-coding RNA molecule (microRNA) that regulates gene expression in multicellular organisms by post-transcriptional mechanisms, such as inhibiting the translation or destabilizing target mRNAs[1]. MIR3917 is highly expressed in certain lung cancer tissues, particularly within exosomes derived from M2 macrophages, and has been shown to promote lung cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion by targeting and downregulating G protein-coupled receptor kinase 6 (GRK6)[1]. This oncogenic role, particularly in non-small cell lung cancer, suggests MIR3917 is both a potential therapeutic target and a biomarker for tumor progression[1].
