MicroRNA 3919 (miR-3919) is a small, non-coding RNA molecule that belongs to the microRNA family and functions in the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression. It has been characterized as a potential tumor suppressor: in prostate cancer, overexpression of miR-3919 inhibited cellular proliferation, migration, and invasion while promoting apoptosis, partly through direct repression of the oncogenic gene DJ-1. In vivo, miR-3919 overexpression led to reduced tumor growth in xenograft models. Additionally, miR-3919 is consistently overexpressed in high-grade B-cell lymphoma with 11q aberration, suggesting its value as a diagnostic biomarker for this subtype, and has been detected in other aggressive B-cell tumors. Though its expression and pathogenic relevance in various epithelial cancers are emerging, its functional role in other biological or pathological processes remains under investigation. Targeting the miR-3919/DJ-1 axis may represent a new therapeutic avenue for prostate cancer and potentially for other malignancies characterized by aberrant DJ-1 activity or miR-3919 expression
