MicroRNA 3922 (MIR3922)

Target
MIR3922
Molecular classification
microRNA, non-coding RNA, other (microRNA family)
01

Overview

MicroRNA 3922 (MIR3922) is an RNA gene encoding a short (20–24 nucleotide), non-coding RNA belonging to the microRNA family. Like other microRNAs, it regulates post-transcriptional gene expression by binding to target messenger RNAs resulting in either translational inhibition or destabilization of the mRNA. MIR3922 is cataloged in gene databases (HGNC: 38895, NCBI Gene: 100500843, Ensembl: ENSG00000264295, miRBase: hsa-mir-3922) but has no reported functional roles, validated disease associations, or drug interactions in published literature or curated databases as of September 2025[3]. MicroRNAs in general play important roles in development, cell differentiation, cell cycle regulation, apoptosis, and in various human diseases such as cancer and neurodegenerative disorders[1][4][7]. However, for MIR3922, there is only theoretical and predicted annotation, and its biological functions, disease roles, and relevance as a therapeutic target remain uncharacterized.
