MicroRNA 4259 (MIR4259 or hsa-mir-4259) is classified as a microRNA, a small non-coding RNA molecule involved in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression. Like other microRNAs, its general role is assumed to be gene silencing via binding to complementary sequences in messenger RNAs, leading to their degradation or inhibiting their translation. However, as of the current knowledge cutoff (2024), there is no published research specifically describing the sequence, biological targets, disease associations, physiological role, or clinical utility of microRNA 4259.
