microRNA 4267 (MIR4267) is a small non-coding RNA in humans (hsa-mir-4267), classified as a microRNA. It acts as a post-transcriptional regulator by binding to the 3' untranslated regions of target mRNAs, leading to gene silencing either by translational inhibition or mRNA degradation[1][2]. MIR4267 has been implicated in regulating pathways involving genes such as FOS and MAPK3 and may participate in processes related to glial cell development (gliogenesis)[2]. While it is upregulated in certain cancers (for example, it is co-expressed with other microRNAs during hepatocellular carcinoma development), its precise biological functions and disease associations remain incompletely established, and no direct clinical applications (such as drugs or biomarker use) have been validated[2][7]. Like other microRNAs, MIR4267 forms part of the complex gene regulatory network in mammalian cells[6].
