MicroRNA 4285 (MIR4285) is a member of the microRNA family of small, non-coding RNAs that regulate gene expression at the post-transcriptional level via base-pairing with complementary sequences in target mRNAs, leading to mRNA degradation or inhibition of translation. MicroRNAs, including MIR4285, are critical for fine-tuning the expression of multiple genes and thus participate in a wide array of cellular regulatory networks. Although microRNAs as a class are involved in many diseases and biological processes, there is currently no published information detailing the role, disease associations, or therapeutic targeting of MIR4285. Commercially available synthetic mimics exist for functional research purposes. If further research emerges associating MIR4285 with specific diseases, drug interactions, or therapeutic development, this classification may change accordingly.
