microRNA 4288 (MIR4288) is a small, non-coding RNA molecule in humans, belonging to the microRNA family. Like other miRNAs, MIR4288 regulates gene expression by binding to target messenger RNAs, typically resulting in their degradation or translational inhibition. It has been implicated in prostate cancer, where loss of MIR4288 is associated with increased metastatic and invasive potential due to upregulation of specific target genes (MMP16, ROCK1)[5]. Outside of this role, functional and therapeutic information is limited. As a regulatory molecule rather than a receptor or enzyme, MIR4288 is not a classical drug target but may be useful as a biomarker or in future RNA-based therapies.
