MicroRNA 4312 (MIR4312) is a short non-coding RNA molecule of approximately 20-24 nucleotides involved in the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression in human cells[3]. MIR4312 is listed in the HGNC database (HGNC: 38376) and encoded at NCBI Gene ID 100422971, with alias hsa-mir-4312[3]. MicroRNAs such as MIR4312 are transcribed by RNA polymerase II, processed by the Drosha and Dicer enzymes, and finally incorporated into the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), where they regulate the stability and translation of specific target mRNAs through base-pairing interactions, often resulting in translational inhibition or mRNA destabilization[3][1][6][2][5][7]. There is no evidence that MIR4312 represents a direct therapeutic target (for example, it is not a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or transcription factor). Instead, it functions as part of the general microRNA network modulating gene expression, with possible indirect roles in diverse cellular processes and diseases[3][1][4][6][2][5][7]. Pathway, disease association, drug, biomarker, and safety concern data specific to MIR4312 were not found.
