microRNA 4319 (miR-4319, also known as hsa-mir-4319 or MIR4319) is a short, non-coding RNA molecule that post-transcriptionally regulates gene expression in humans. It acts predominantly as a tumor suppressor in colorectal cancer by downregulating proliferation and altering cell cycle distribution through direct targeting of ABTB1. Its expression is transcriptionally regulated by PLZF and is associated with better survival in colorectal cancer patients. Dysregulation of miR-4319 is implicated in several diseases, particularly various cancers, inflammation, and autoimmune conditions. Currently, miR-4319 is not a direct therapeutic target for drugs, but it is being explored as a biomarker and a potential target for gene therapy strategies in oncology[1][4].
