MicroRNA 4323 (MIR4323) is a member of the human microRNA family; it is a short, non-coding RNA molecule (~20–24 nucleotides) that regulates gene expression by targeting messenger RNAs for translational repression or degradation. MIR4323 was found to promote human bladder smooth muscle cell proliferation under cyclic hydrodynamic pressure by inhibiting the expression of LYN kinase, which in turn activates the Erk1/2 (MAPK) signaling pathway, a central regulator of cell proliferation and differentiation. While MIR4323's direct involvement in disease is still emerging, its ability to modulate cell proliferation suggests potential relevance in pathological tissue remodeling or cancer biology, though no clinically approved drugs directly target MIR4323 at present.
