MicroRNA 4433b-5p (miR-4433b-5p, also known as hsa-miR-4433b-5p) is a small, non-coding single-stranded RNA molecule that belongs to the microRNA family. As a post-transcriptional regulator, it binds to complementary sequences on target messenger RNAs (mRNAs), leading to their degradation or repression of translation. It does not encode a protein, nor is it considered an enzyme, receptor, transporter, or traditional drug target. Recent studies have highlighted miR-4433b-5p as a potentially valuable biomarker for breast cancer: it is overexpressed in serum and underexpressed in tumor tissue compared to controls and may discriminate between breast cancer subtypes when used in combination with other microRNAs[1][3]. There is no evidence that miR-4433b-5p is directly targeted by marketed drugs or approved therapeutic agents, and its value lies primarily in cancer diagnostics and subtype discrimination.
