microRNA 4455 (MIR4455) is a member of the microRNA (miRNA) family, which are small non-coding RNAs (~22 nucleotides) that post-transcriptionally regulate gene expression by binding to complementary sequences in target messenger RNAs (mRNAs), leading to mRNA degradation or translational repression[1][3][5]. miRNAs are involved in a wide variety of cellular and developmental processes, including cell differentiation, proliferation, apoptosis, and stress responses[1][5]. Though many human miRNAs have established roles in normal processes and disease, the specific biological targets, tissue distribution, or functional and disease relevance of MIR4455 have not been well-characterized in major literature as of 2024.
