MicroRNA 4476 (miR-4476)

Target
miR-4476
Molecular classification
MicroRNA, Non-coding RNA

Overview

MicroRNA 4476 (miR-4476) is a small, non-coding RNA molecule classified as a microRNA, involved in the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression. It is upregulated in glioma and promotes tumor cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. Mechanistically, miR-4476 directly represses the tumor suppressor gene APC, leading to activation of the Wnt/β-catenin/c-Jun signaling pathway, which contributes to tumor growth and malignancy. Clinical studies have found that miR-4476 is a prognostic biomarker in glioma, with higher expression correlating with poor patient survival[1][2]. Its dysregulation has also been observed in pancreatic and biliary tract cancers, supporting a broader oncogenic role. There are currently no approved drugs targeting miR-4476 directly, and its modulation for therapy is still an area of research[2][4].
