Bioinformatic analyses indicate that miR-4477b targets genes involved in critical cellular processes such as the cell cycle (G1/S transition), mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling, protein phosphorylation, and actin cytoskeleton regulation[1]. KEGG pathway enrichment shows its target genes are linked to cancer-associated pathways, particularly the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway, pathways in cancer, and renal cell carcinoma[1]. Evidence for direct pharmacological targeting or clinical use as a therapeutic target is currently lacking.
