Overview

MicroRNA 4503 (miR-4503; hsa-mir-4503) is a member of the microRNA (miRNA) family, which are small non-coding RNAs that modulate gene expression at the post-transcriptional level by binding to complementary sequences in target messenger RNAs (mRNAs), thereby influencing translation or promoting mRNA degradation[1][4][3]. Like other miRNAs, it is presumed to play a regulatory role in cellular processes, but there is insufficient evidence in current public databases and biomedical literature to suggest that miR-4503 is a well-characterized therapeutic target, biomarker, or has known drug interactions. There is also little functional or disease association information publicly available specific to miR-4503, making it likely that this target is either very poorly characterized or that the entry may be incorrect or spurious.
