MicroRNA 4510 (miR-4510) is a 22-nucleotide mature non-coding regulatory RNA located on chromosome 15 (35,926,856-35,926,923 bp), abundantly expressed in normal tissues but significantly downregulated in breast cancer. It acts as a tumor suppressor by negatively regulating multiple oncogenic genes, including TP53, TP53INP1, MMP11, and COL1A1. Its reduced expression is associated with increased cell growth, proliferation, invasion, and poor prognosis in breast cancer patients. MiR-4510 may serve as a biomarker for breast cancer diagnosis and prognosis, although additional evidence is needed to confirm its clinical utility[1][3][4].
No drugs currently target miR-4510 directly; its mechanism involves regulation of mRNA stability and translation through binding to mRNA 3′ UTRs[3][4][5].
