Overview

MicroRNA 4528 (MIR4528) is a small endogenous non-coding RNA molecule found in humans, belonging to the microRNA family. Like other microRNAs, MIR4528 is transcribed as a primary miRNA, processed to a precursor miRNA, and then to a ~22 nucleotide mature miRNA that becomes part of the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC). The mature MIR4528 functions to regulate gene expression post-transcriptionally by binding to complementary sequences in target mRNAs, usually resulting in translational repression or mRNA degradation[2][4][6]. While microRNAs as a group are critical for development, cell differentiation, apoptosis, and disease, there are currently no experimentally verified data or strong predictions directly implicating MIR4528 in specific human diseases, drug responses, or as a clinical biomarker. This data reflects the general biological function and classification of MIR4528 as a microRNA, but as of now, its specific roles, therapeutic interactions, and clinical relevance remain uncharacterized in the scientific literature.
