MicroRNA 4531 (MIR4531)

Target
MIR4531
Molecular classification
Non-coding RNA, microRNA (miRNA) family

Overview

MicroRNA 4531 (MIR4531) is a short (20-24 nucleotides) non-coding RNA molecule from the microRNA family, encoded in the human genome. Like other microRNAs, MIR4531 is transcribed as a primary transcript and processed by the Drosha and Dicer ribonucleases to form a mature miRNA. Mature miRNAs such as MIR4531 enter the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC) to bind complementary sequences in target mRNAs, typically leading to translational repression or mRNA destabilization. While microRNAs have broad roles in regulating gene expression across different tissues and biological contexts, there is currently no published evidence tying MIR4531 to specific biological pathways, disease processes, or clinical utility as a biomarker or drug target.
