Overview

MicroRNA 4537 (miR-4537) is a small non-coding RNA molecule involved in the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression. In gastric cancer, miR-4537 acts as a tumor suppressor by suppressing cell proliferation, promoting apoptosis, and increasing radiosensitivity of cancer cells. Its expression is downregulated in gastric cancer tissues compared to normal tissues, and it directly targets genes such as zinc finger protein 587 (ZNF587), negatively regulating their expression. Modulation of miR-4537 has potential implications for enhancing the effectiveness of radiotherapy in gastric cancer[1][2].
