Overview

MicroRNA 4647 (miR-4647) is a small non-coding RNA molecule that functions to regulate gene expression by binding to complementary sequences in the 3′ untranslated regions (3′UTRs) of target mRNAs, leading to their translational repression or degradation. It has been implicated in the pathogenesis and progression of colorectal cancer by downregulating MUC13 expression, which in turn affects cell proliferation and migration. miR-4647 expression is also associated with overall survival in patients with colorectal cancer and is studied as a biomarker in chronic myeloid leukemia for predicting response to imatinib therapy. As a microRNA, miR-4647 is part of the broader family of non-coding RNAs with key regulatory functions in health and disease[1][3].
