MicroRNA 4692 (MIR4692) is a predicted human microRNA gene encoding a short, non-coding RNA molecule (20–24 nucleotides) involved in the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression. As with other miRNAs, MIR4692 is processed from a longer precursor by Drosha and Dicer enzymes, then incorporated into the RISC complex, which targets mRNAs for translational repression or destabilization. MIR4692 is classified within the miRNA family and functions primarily in gene expression regulation. It is not a protein-coding gene, nor does it encode a receptor, enzyme, or transporter. Diseases associated with MIR4692 include Murray Valley Encephalitis, but further functional and clinical characterizations are limited[4][5][1][6].
