Overview

MicroRNA 4737 is a member of the non-coding RNA family known as microRNAs, which are short RNAs (20–24 nucleotides) involved in the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression in multicellular organisms. MicroRNAs such as MIR4737 are transcribed as part of primary transcripts and processed into mature miRNA, which incorporate into the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC). They regulate target mRNAs through imperfect base pairing, generally leading to translational inhibition or destabilization of the target mRNA. While microRNAs play important roles in developmental regulation, cell proliferation, differentiation, and buffering gene expression against environmental perturbations, there is no specific functional or disease-related information available for microRNA 4737 at present[1][2][3][4][5].
